First day: THE BAD & THE GOOD

Today is my second day of school and I'm already exhausted. Here is the good and the bad from my first day.

THE BAD

Waiting in line for the bookstore. Every student carrying a backpack or purse must check in their bag but anyone without can walk straight in. I understand theft occurs but I do not understand letting around 10-12 people walk in front of me because I have a bag. After these people walked in, I then had to wait until the bookstore began to empty out. I know life is not fair but everyone should have to wait to get in.

Paying at the bookstore. I had some cash to use toward books. One of the bills was larger than $20 and because of this they had to write down my name and school I.D. #. Don't they have special markers or know how to check if a bill is real or fake? It just seemed ridiculous to me and I didn't have my I.D. # with me, it was in my bag. And this after the entire ordeal of getting into the bookstore made me feel as though there is little trust in the students. Why would I want to go to a school that assumes most students are untrustworthy?

People who work at the school are not very friendly. I understand you have A LOT of students to deal with but why do you have to treat us like we're causing you so much trouble? We are giving you a job to do and paying A LOT of money to go to school. The least you could do is be courteous, speak to me like I'm an adult and I don't know maybe smile once in awhile (just a suggestion).

THE GOOD

The counselor I met with actually treated me as an adult and with kindness. If everyone were more like her I would be staying at this school next semester. She was efficient, respectful and very helpful.

I got into my English class on the first day of school. This is pretty remarkable and I was ecstatic! And the teacher seems awesome. She gave us a clear idea of what she expects from us and seems to be more than willing to help if we should need it.

The hot dog vendor. Cheap and good hot dogs. Yum!

The students. Most of the students are very kind and willing to help you out if you should need it. Someone gave me directions to the bathroom (you know how us girls are), more than a few people held doors open as I walked into different buildings and someone offered me their pen when I didn't have one.

So if I try to keep a positive attitude my first day was mostly good but not good enough for me to want to continue going to this school. Sorry but I'm taking my money else where.

Tuesdays Truth: School Woes

Today I go back to school.

I'm taking Statistics. I've heard mixed reviews about this class but I figured if I can get through Algebra with an A, Statistics shouldn't be too bad. Fingers crossed.

I thought this was the last class I needed to take before applying for the University Program but...

The TRUTH is...

I forgot all about those lower division requirements for my major. Waa, waa, waa. I have about two or three more classes to go.

Today I plan on crashing an English class in hopes that I will make it in. The chances of that are slim and none but I will try anyway.

I'm almost there.

On a happier note, I finished reading Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince last night! Woo hoo! I'm excited to read the final book...in my spare time. Ugh.

What's your truth?

What a twist!

Today I feel like ass. I worked yesterday and it did me over.  I would be happy to lay on the couch eating cookies while watching the Kardashians all day long. More cookies = bigger ass. Damn, those girls are blessed (one more cookie in the mouth). Yummm, yummm, yummm. No Alana, Mommy is not Cookie Monster. Ok, the resemblence is uncanny.

I wouldn't mind my ass getting a little bigger but what I do mind is feeling like ass and looking like it! Here's some proof!

Not a pretty sight huh?

But did you notice that cute twist in my step?

Or rather...in my hair?

I didn't want my ass face to ruin a great twist!

At least I'm not having a bad hair day!

Thanks to Heather over at Geber Days! Head on over and learn how to make this cute twist. It's super easy, your hair can be greasy and grimy (like mine) and look cute in just a minute!
